My Plan to Teach
My Plan To Teach
I want to teach my audience how to use the Parametric Equalizer (known as Parametric EQ 2) on FL Studio to produce higher quality sound. When it comes to the using equalizers, a lot of producers and sound engineers use to enhance vocals when mixing it to an instrumental. In my case, I will be focusing more on mixing the different instruments and removing unwanted sound in an instrumental, using the EQ.
Based on market research I have conducted, my teaching technique will be based on what my audience were asking for. I will create a blog, guiding my viewer through the EQ. Within this module guide, I will include visual tutorials through YouTube videos and GIF's I have recorded myself. Visual screenshots will also be added to the tutorial.
First I would start off by teaching my audience how to open the mixer, add your instrument to the mixer and then add the equalizer to it. I will write a written explanation on how it is done, then followed up by a YouTube video I created specifically for this section. This section will also include a written explanation of what the mixer does, as some people may not understand.
I will then follow up with the next section, explaining where different frequencies will show on the EQ, from high-end frequencies to low-end. Within this section, I will also include how the different tools in the EQ work and what they do. Visuals will be included and I will create my own GIF's demonstrating how its done visually to go along with my written explanations.
The reason I want to create write a manual for my audience is so that they have a written explanation of everything that they need to know about instead of flicking through a video if they've missed information. The videos and GIF's will allow them to put what they've learned in theory into practical.
After my online manual, I will create 3 videos on YouTube which demonstrates how to mix all of your instruments with the tools that have been taught. I will do this all in one recording, which should take no longer than 15 minutes. Then break the 15-minute video down into 3 parts (5 minutes each). All of the information in the main video tutorial should've been covered in the written tutorial. Meaning the video shouldn't be that hard to follow.
How will I create the videos?
I will use Online Broadcasting Software to screen record my computers monitor, giving my audience visual instructions. For sound quality, I will be using the Blue Yeti Microphone which is a microphone mainly used for podcasts. Once I record everything I will then move the video onto Adobe Premiere Pro and edit the cuts.
