Marketing a Music Idea
Who is your target audience?
My target audience will be bedroom producers and beginners. An interest in producing should be acquired. As a producer myself, learning to use the EQ was one of the steps I had to take in my early stages on producing. The age range depends on what level of producing skill my viewer is at, you can have a 40-year-old who just started producing or you can have a 19-year-old. The way I am marketing this will supposedly suit the teens as I will be promoting this through Twitter and YouTube.
Competitors
There are other online tutorials on how to use the parametric equalizer on FL Studio. Most of these videos can sum up to a time of 20 minutes, which in some cases, may be too long for someone to watch. For example here is a video from the YouTuber BusyWorksBeats.
One thing I noticed about the people that watch these 20-minute videos is that the information and techniques explained aren't simplified for a newly starting music producer to understand. This is something I myself had trouble with when I started to teach myself the basics of mixing. People that start off producing at home tend to pause the video every 10 seconds to follow steps throughout the 20-30 minutes of the video, which I think is ridiculous. How can this information be remembered if there are pauses every 10 seconds for half an hour? Another regular problem that happens a lot when beginners watch these videos is that the creators tend to jump straight into terminology without explaining information in it's simplest form.

Here is a list of competitors on YouTube. These links provide their tutorial on mixing instruments on the Parametric EQ, they all last around 20-40 minutes long.
Market Research
I got 5 subjects to watch this video, review it and put its tutorial into practice. A lot of them found it too long to watch and tended to forget all the information while watching the video due to its length. A lot of terminologies aren't explained enough, just as I predicted. Of the creators don't take into consideration who they are trying to teach as if they will understand music terminologies or music tools.

Are you interested in music production? Why?
"Yes, when I listen to music I am always fascinated by high quality production. Also I feel as if producers do not gain the credit their deserve as much as say the artist, because of this I take time to research the producer because in my opinion production is what turns a good song into a great song."
Do you know how the Parametric Equaliser works?
"No, I do not."
As you have seen the tutorial, are there any improvements you would think would be needed? If so, what?
"I think that the tutorial mentioned the key steps in understanding how the Parametric Equaliser works. However, as someone who has never had any first hand experience of producing, it became clear that this video was not suitable for amateurs. In order to improve this video I would suggest that there should be a section at the start that explains key terms as I believe that the video assumed that the audience would understand certain terminologies. Even an online booklet or blog even a blog telling me more information about it would help."

As you have seen the tutorial, are there any improvements you would think would be needed? If so, what?
"I understood the key steps, but I struggled to keep up with the small details, due to the length of the video. The video was far too long and therefore the video failed to keep my attention for the duration of the video. I wouldn't mind watching the video is it watch 10 to 20 minutes long but half an hour to 40 minutes is too long"
The results clearly show that beginners find it very hard to understand this tutorial. In my conclusion, I blame the negative response due to the length of the video. Not many people have superhuman memory. I predicted a similar negative response to the video itself.
What Platform?
My main platform I will be using to that will have most of my information will be www.blogger.com. I will be using this platform because this website provides me with the option of having all the written information, videos, pictures and GIF's all in one post. Blogger allows me to publicly upload my post and is very easy to access with a link, which also makes marketing the link a lot easier as it would only take a copy, paste and share to advertise it.
I will be using YouTube to upload my videos. This is simply because bedroom producers and beginners tend to start off using what knowledge they have on the web and use of course, the one and only YouTube. I've spoken to a lot of bedroom producers in my time, and one thing I noticed is that they all of them learnt how to use this software through YouTube. The reason for this is that music courses at college and university teach students how to use the more "branded" music programs a such as Logic and CuBase.
Other online websites such as Alison.com require videos from up to 1 to 6 ours of online lectures, which is not the length I'm looking for. My tutorial is more of a quick go to video that can be obtained by the masses, which is why YouTube is the best option for me.
Promoting
When it comes to promoting my blog, I want to use my Twitter account. (@jparagas1996). My twitter account has over 1000 followers and is an account specifically made for music. On my account, majority of my followers are musicians, producers and people who are just generally enjoy music, meaning my blog post have more of a chance capturing the audience I need to make my blog successful.
